E-Space The Greenest Home in California
Shown in these photos is The Greenest Home in California now in design,
with energy generating components now being specified by The Ecologic
Collaborative (TEC). This E-Space demonstration project will have state-of-
the-art Green devices updated and monitored on a continuous basis.

The Greenest House in California
The E-Space Greenest House in California maximizes those attributes that are inherent in building with a space
frame which is clad in energy efficient panels (ESIPS). The net result is the most energy efficient system known.
A major attribute of the structural system is the creation of soaring interior spaces which are totally flexible in how
they are organized and used. The only permanent walls are those delineating bathrooms and bedrooms. All other
spaces are divided by wardrobe-depth cabinets which can be accessed from either side to create bookcases or
storage units. Therefore, complete reorganization of open plan public living areas is easily accomplished as needs
change.
The classical elevated “RCA” light-well / ventilation roof structure brings diffused light into the center of the house
and, of great significance, allows convection current cooling of the structure. During hot weather, fresh air
introduced through filters at ground level rises when warmed and is exhausted through operable windows in the
RCA. In most climates, the combination of extreme insulation qualities of the ESIPS and the RCA eliminates the
need for mechanical air conditioning.
By incorporating state-of-the-art energy saving appliances and energy generating components, the house will be
the greenest possible upon completion. More importantly, as new inventions are brought forth and qualified by
Livingreen, they will be incorporated with instrumentation to measure relative efficiency.
In effect, the house will be a perpetual Living Green Lab.
